James H. Stewart, age 55, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully Saturday March 28, 2015. He was born October 4, 1959 in Fayetteville to John and Billie Jones Stewart. 1978 graduate of Fayetteville High School where he served as Read Obituary
Jimmy and I were in a play together at FHS, and we often crossed paths via mutual friends. Jimmy was a popular guy among many student groups--a rare quality! He was always upbeat and friendly with a great laugh. I never saw him after graduation, but I hope he had a lot of joy in his adult life.
Jimmy and I became friends when I was still in Junior High and he was in High School and was already driving that orange bug. I remember riding around town with him and then the next year he became a part of my circle of friends when I became a drama student. That is when I found where I belonged and I will always treasure the memories I made with all those special folks. I am still in touch with many of them and had everyone over for a reunion in Fayetteville in Nov. 2006 as we were all in town at the same time. Glad Jimmy was a part of that and so many special times in the past. Rest in peace my old friend.
Jimmy was one of my dearest friends in high school. I can't begin to list the memories that this dear soul is a part of. That VW Bug was famous as was his ability to get on the CB PA outside of our houses when he came to pick us all up for a drive. He worked at Colliers with me as well and every time a great disco song came on the radio we would run to the stock room and dance! That was Jimmy, always a fun party waiting to happen. He loved everyone, was kind to all and truly a great guy. I am honored to have had him as a friend. May he rest in peace and please know you are all in my prayers.

Jimmy was one of my best friends in high school. I can't begin to tell you about all the fun and laughter we shared! We loved to disco and ride around in his VW. I loved reading everything that was posted on Facebook about Jimmy from our classmates. So many people wrote about how kind and funny he was. Please know that Jimmy will always be a part of my favorite memories when we were young. Your family is in my prayers.
I knew James for only a short time as we worked together at JCPenney. He was such a positive influence on the people he met in and out of the workplace. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.
