Jerry Hartfield III's Obituary
Jerry Hartfield, III, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on April 18, 2023, at Circle of Life in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born on December 29, 1969, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Jane and Jerry Hartfield. He attended the University of Arkansas where he studied engineering and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Cara Rose, on June 29, 1991, at Central Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Jerry was a United States Air Force Veteran. He served four years of active duty where he was a finalist for the Air Force wide Airman of the Year. He then pursued the completion of his bachelor’s degree and served with the New Jersey National Guard. He graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural engineering.
Jerry served in the Air Force Reserves with the 96th Aerial Port Squadron at Little Rock Air Force Base. He was proud to serve with his brothers and sisters from the 96th during Operation Enduring Freedom where he was deployed to Germany and Afghanistan. Later, he obtained a Masters of Operations Management from the University of Arkansas. Jerry was a structural engineer and worked for Tyson Foods as the Director of Civil/Structural Engineering. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Springdale, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife, Cara Rose Hartfield; sons, Jerry Allen Hartfield and Samuel Mill Hartfield; granddaughter, Penelope Rose Hartfield; parents, Jane and Jerry Hartfield; sister, Eleanor Wallace; aunts, Mary Sweet and Sandra Mitchell; uncles, Samuel Lee and John David Lee; nephews, Benjamin Richards, Alex Richards, Michael Wallace and Seth Shull; and niece, Kathryn Mendoza.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 24, 2023, at Fayetteville National Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church in Springdale. Following the service, there will be a reception in the fellowship hall of the church.
