Jay was a great, electric personality. I always liked that. Full of life.
He was one of the very few men that I've heard openly and whole-heartedly compliment his wife. Not enough men show appreciation like that. He did. He'd talk about how lucky he was to be with Tammy for decades and how she was as pretty as she was years ago. So positive and kind. When you heard him talk like that, many times in front of her, it reminds you of how few of us say such loving things. That's one thing he taught me.
He'd also say, 'love ya, brother', so many times. Always good to hear. We don't tell each other that enough. But he did, and I'm grateful for that.
We drove around Fayetteville a few times together, just reminiscing. Fun. We both had big fun doing that. Old friends, talking about life in our small town.
And his cousin, Rocky, very kind-hearted, was a great compliment and always a good, solid friend to him.
So, missing you, Jay. Love ya, brother.
