Jerry "Jay" Dale Lineberger Jr.'s Obituary
Jerry “Jay” Dale Lineberger, Jr. was born on September 12, 1959, at Wadley Hospital in Texarkana, Texas, to Jerry Dale and Joy Lineberger. He passed away unexpectedly at home with family in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on November 15, 2024. Jay was born into a Razorback family with his dad and uncles playing Razorback football. He graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1978 and attended the University of Arkansas. Jay was a deputy Sheriff and juvenile probation officer for Washington County and a car salesman for Nissan before retiring. Jay loved to fish and play his drums and guitar. He also loved his friends and family deeply. Jay loved the Lord and was a member of University Baptist Church where he served in children’s ministry for many years.
Jay is survived by his wife, Tammy Lineberger; children, Lindsay Simmons (Jeff), and Madison Baker (Josh); sister, Kim Collins; brother, Andrew Lineberger; cousin, Rocky Lineberger (Felicia); four grandchildren, Brodie Baker, Peyton Baker, Haven Simmons, and Haisley Simmons. Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Joy Lineberger; and son, Jeremy Lineberger.
Jay will be missed for his quick wit and big heart.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2024, at University Baptist Church, 333 W. Maple St., Fayetteville, Arkansas. Memorial services will follow at 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2024, at University Baptist Church.
