Jerry Dennis Retallick's Obituary
Jerry Dennis Retallick, 69, passed away on June 12, 2025 in Fayetteville, AR. He was born on October 13, 1955 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to the late Samuel and Alice (Friedel) Retallick.
After graduating from high school, Jerry joined the Navy. He began his 30-year career with Modine Manufacturing as an engineer after graduating from Stout State University.
Former colleague, Lori Scott Dreiling wrote this; Jerry was a difference maker; an amazing boss, mentor, leader, and friend. He literally influenced people worldwide. Places like Trenton, MO; Lawrenceburg, TN; Emporia, KS; Racine, WI and Joplin, MO. He and MariAnne were in Europe for 4 years and in Korea and then in China for 4 years. They were family to many. Jerry was an extraordinary manufacturing mind; understood the process, and how to do things the right way. He also knew how to read people and how to motivate them to do their best. He was tough but fair. Jerry had an infectious belly laugh that is cherished and remembered by all. The value of a life well lived is seen by the strong relationships, a sense of purpose and the positive impact Jerry leaves us with. He left us too soon but with a lasting legacy.
Upon retirement Jerry fully enjoyed lake life. He loved scuba diving, surfing, foiling, e-foiling or just sitting on the dock fishing and enjoying the scenery. He loved to show off his skills to his boys and grandkids or anyone he could impress. Jerry never backed down from a challenge, and was always willing to help a neighbor, one just mentioned “he seemed to know what we needed before we asked”. He loved volunteering at the Walton Arts Center as he got to know and chat with so many wonderful people. Jerry also volunteered for the Lost Bridge highway 127 trash pickup and the annual village cleanup. He was a clever man that loved learning new things, recently building tables, cabinets and drawers. Jerry lived each day to the fullest and was thankful for the many gifts God bestowed on him and his family.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 46 years MariAnne (Steil) Retallick; sons, Adam (Jamie) Retallick and their children Charlotte, Miles, Haley and Brock of Manhattan, KS; Andrew (Desmon) Retallick and their children Brennan and Chloe of Lyndon, KS; brother, Daniel (Susan) Retallick; sisters, Peggy (Dave) Markow, Cindy (Chip) Powell; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
