Katherine Miller Kane's Obituary
Mrs. Katherine Miller Kane, 88 of Butterfield Trail Village passed away Tuesday, May 06, 2003 in the Butterfield Trail Village Health Care Unit.
She was born April 25, 1915 in Hereford, TX to James Hamilton "J.H." and Ethel Estelle (Gatewood) Miller.
She was a graduate of The University of Arkansas where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority and was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honorary Educational Fraternity. After graduating from the University of Arkansas and prior to her marriage to John E. Kane she taught grade school in a West Texas country school for two years. After her marriage she worked briefly as a clerk typist. She and her husband were longtime residents of Fayetteville. She was a lifetime member of the Humane Society of the Ozarks and a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.
Her parents, her husband, a brother James Alton Miller, and a sister Mary Athalie Miller preceded her in death.
Two daughters, Phyllis Kane of Fayetteville, and Carolyn Kane of Canton, MO survive her.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 12, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Butterfield Trail Village.
Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens of Fayetteville.
