I first met Kathy when I was 15 years old, mowing her yard in Grandview, MO. That was 1968 and here we are over 55 years later. Our friendship grew through the years. She was my confidant in high school and close to a big sister or mother. I went to college and spent many weekends with her working for her husband as a photographer. Despite 22 years in the Army and many miles between us, we remained close friends. We live in Chesapeake, VA now and during our trips to Missouri to visit our families, it always included a visit to Rogers with Ken and Kathy. We visited with them just last Christmas. I was saddened to hear on this visit she had entered into hospice care and her time was short. Ken was the love of her life and doted on her every need in her later years. They had a relationship that anyone would wish for. There will always be a missing spot in my heart for this lady.
