Kathleen Garvin's Obituary
Kathleen Garvin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Rogers community, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024, in Bentonville, Arkansas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 21, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to the late Paul and Bernice Huber.
Kathleen was a proud graduate of the Rogers High School Class of 1959 and remained deeply connected to her alma mater throughout her life. She was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rogers, where her faith played a central role in her life, and she found comfort and solace among her church family. Kathleen was also an active member of the Rogers History Club, where her passion for preserving local history shone brightly.
In 1981, Kathleen married the love of her life, Kenneth Garvin, with whom she shared many happy years filled with love, laughter, and companionship. She was a devoted wife, supporting her husband through thick and thin, and their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love.
Kathleen was known for her exceptional talent as an avid sewer, creating beautiful pieces that were treasured by her family and friends. She had a gift for hospitality and was renowned as a host extraordinaire, making everyone feel welcome and cherished in her home. To her grandchildren, she was not just a grandmother but a "Namaw," a title that reflected the special bond she shared with each of them.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Garvin; her daughters, Carol Potts and her husband John, and Paula Garvin; grandson, Alex Potts; granddaughter, Valarie Lawson, and her husband, John; great-grandchildren, Eve and Sonny Lawson; her brother, Joe Huber, and his wife, Jimmie; nephew, Nathan Huber, and his wife, Leigh Ann; niece, Natalie Greene, and her husband, Travis; and great-nieces and nephews, Presleigh and Hudson Huber, and Luke and Norah Greene.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bernice Huber, and her aunts, Grace and Bess Huber.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville or the First Presbyterian Church of Rogers, organizations that held special significance to Kathleen during her lifetime.
A memorial service to celebrate Kathleen's life will be held on June 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Rogers with a visitation starting at 10:30 AM, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her extraordinary life.
