Couldn’t be at your memorial service, but remember when Eric was born and when you gave me a gift card that I bought a quilt with and still have it. Margaret L Wills
To Family and Friends of Larry Donald Shaffer:
Larry was the first playmate I had as a child 5 years of age when we moved to Fayetteville. We developed a friendship that was to last a lifetime. Larry was like a brother to me. Then appeared another lad that joined our friendship: Morris Daniel. We played together through childhood, participated in sports together, caroused together and always kept in touch. Larry was one of the finest athletes I have ever been around. I kept up with his athletic achievements. He was a very versed baseball player, but I looked upon him as one who I would some day see playing professional football. I was a student at Fayetteville High School, but always attended his games at Greenland. I have yet to see anyone that could outrun him. We kept in touch through all these years and I am very saddened by his death, but pleased that he became the successful business man that he did and had him as a close friend. To Linda and Jerry, you may not remember me, but I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. It is a loss for me also. He was a special person.
Truly,
Bud Land (Little Newt)
