Lindy (Elna Mae) Lindahl's Obituary
Lindy (Elna Mae) Lindahl, 80, died Friday, April 11, 2003 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
She was born June 10, 1922 in Osage City, KS to Oliver and Mary Lindahl. She was a retired nurse anesthetist.
Lindy was preceded in death by her parents and brother Paul.
She was a graduate of Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City, MO and graduated with a B.S. in nursing from the University of Nebraska, Omaha. She was consecrated as a Lutheran Deaconess from Immanuel Deaconess Institute in Omaha and served as a medical missionary in Tanzania, E. Africa mainly working in dispensaries connected with leprosy care. She returned to the U.S. in 1962 and retired from the anesthesia department at St. Mary?s Medical Center in Duluth, MN before moving to Fayetteville in 1994.
Survivors include two brothers, Harry Lindahl of Midwest City, OK, and Leroy Lindahl of Bella Vista, AR and Joyce E. Lund companion for 45 years.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fayetteville with Pastor Robert Lutze officiating.
Memorials may be sent to Good Shepard Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers.
