We met Lloyd when he and Rosemary came to North Dakota to visit with our family about the events of Oct. 7th 1944 when the B-17 he and our Brother Andy were in over Germany and were hit be anti aircraft fire. Our Brother lost his life and only Lloyd and Mr. Cochran survived and were taken prisioner. We are forever grateful for the information and comfort Lloyd brought to our Family, we wish him eternal peace and send our thanks and love to his family for allowing us to share in his friendship.
We wish his family the peace and comfort of our risen Lord as you remember all the good things Lloyd brought to your lives.

Mr. Boling was on the B-17 with my brother, Andrew, when it was shot down over Germany on 10/7/44. Andrew was killed during that action. Mr. and Mrs. Boling were so kind as to visit and have dinner with the brothers and sisters of Andrew in North Dakota several years ago; for hours that evening, we talked about the time he spent with Andrew, the B-17 flights and missions, Mr. Boling's post-war career, and related topics. I was born 13 days after Andrew was killed and so, Mr. Boling's visit and kindness had a major favorable impact on me personally. I will pray for Mr. Boling and his family. I had the honor of knowing Lloyd for the last 10 years. He was a Veteran from the Greatest Generation and his sacrifice for our great Nation put him in a special category of a real hero. I always enjoyed talking with him and learning first hand from his experience and insight. I wanted to be his guardian on the Honor Flight to Washington DC to see the World War II Memorial but he was to frail to go. That Memorial was built to honor Men like Lloyd and his felloe veterans. You will always be remembered and may you now rest in peace.
