Lloyd W. Boling's Obituary
Lloyd W. Boling, 86 of Rogers, AR passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in Rogers. He was born August 31, 1923 in Dale, AR to Henry Clay Boling and Maggie Louise (Hatcher) Boling.He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and survived as a POW, after being shot down over Germany. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BSBA in 1950. He was retired from Gulf Oil Company, where he managed land and lease records. He returned to NWA in 1979 and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Letha Lee Ledford Boling in September of 1962 and his wife of 43 years, Rosemary Spivey Boling in September of 2007. He is survived by two brothers; Edward Boling of Wichita, KS, Henry Clay Boling, Jr. of Bentonville, AR, one sister; Jewell Duncan of Rogers, AR, five children; Rick Spivey and wife Rita of Platteville, CO, Shell Spivey of Rogers, AR, Marsha Spivey of Rogers, AR, Phillip Boling of Fayetteville, AR, Mark Boling and wife Cindy of Ft. Worth, TX, four grandchildren; Ami Spivey of Rogers, AR, Jeremy Spivey of Platteville, CO, Marsha Kay Rainey and husband Ben of Broomfield, CO and Shawn Spivey of Fayetteville, AR, and four great-grandchildren; Savannah, Caroline, Annabelle, and Katherine Rainey. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2 miles west of Hiwasse, AR on Hwy. 72. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Mt. Pleasant Cemetary. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association, 14529 Fielding Road Hiwasse, AR 72739.
