I want to share the following poem which Lois wrote with all of you who were unable to attend the funeral in person. "Be The One" is how Lois lived her beautiful life and was her wish for all who hear it.
Be The One
Be the one who understands the sadness
That a lost and wandering person feels.
Be the one who tries to see the other side,
Who knows what a weary person
Wishes for outside the long, dreary day?
Be the one who gives someone wings to fly.
Who can sympathize with lives filled
With constant pain of body or of mind?
Be the one who says, “I’ve been there myself.”
Be the one each day who offers those you meet
A smile, a hopeful word, a silent prayer--
Be the one who shows you care.

I was blessed to be wed to Lois for 55 years and seven months. During all that time we were one. Her expectations for me were always to love the Lord, love her and love our son. All of that was easy. The hard part is being without her now. She will be with me forever in my heart.
