Mark Lloyd Smittle's Obituary
Mark Lloyd Smittle born on June 29, 1962, in Forrest City, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Mark was a devoted husband to Ginger (Lovell) Smittle of 41 years, with whom he shared many joyful years filled with love and companionship. He was the caring father of Derek (Michele) Smittle, Ashley (Allen) Zirkle, and grandchildren Carter, Ember, and Nora. His warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone he met.
After dedicating 31 years to teaching mathematics at Rogers High School, Mark retired and began working with Hope Cancer Resources, where he continued to inspire and uplift others. A committed member and Deacon of Lakeview Baptist Church, Mark exemplified selflessness and generosity, always placing the needs of others before his own.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie (Smittle) Messersmith and brother-in-law, Kenneth Lovell. He is survived by parents Robert Smittle and Rita (Timbrook) Smittle, his brother, Bobby (Jennifer) Smittle, brothers-in-law William Messersmith and Jim (Lesa) Lovell, along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members along with countless friends.
A visitation in honor of Mark will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 8, from 5 PM to 7 PM. His funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 9, at 10 AM at Lakeview Baptist Church in Cave Springs, followed by burial at Cave Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Rogers.
The family would like to recognize and appreciate the wonderful and caring staff of Highlands Oncology, Washington Regional Hospital, Encompass Health and Rehabilitation Center, and Willard Walker Hospice House of Fayetteville.
