Mary Lou Wommack, 78, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. She was born in Joplin, Missouri on June 19, 1931 to the Ralph and Clotella Middleton. She attended the University of Arkansas, Read Obituary
Aunt Mary Lou was a gracious person and I have good memories of discussions with her. She once gave me a copy of a collection of James Whitcomb Riley poems which I still cherish.
My sympathy to the Wommack family who I know mattered so much to her. Blessing to all of you.
Mary Lou was a beautiful lady. I had the pleasure of meeting her through her grandson, Mike and his wife, Cristina. It was an honor to know her. She will be greatly missed.
Mary Lou forever changed my outlook on life, I find great comfort in the wonderful memories I have of her. Not only did she teach me to be a better artist but also to be a better person. I do not consider myself a former student of hers, but a current student...because she continues to teach and inspire me daily. She is my teacher and friend no matter if she is here in the physical form or not. The world is a better place because of people like Mary Lou I look forward to seeing her again. Light and love today and always!
Mary Lou painted my heart. I think of her everyday and miss her more than I can express but she lives on through the legacy of her art work. What a wonderful legacy to leave! She has forever changed my life and I am forever grateful for Mary Lou.
Mary Lou, I will miss you so much. You were so dear to me, and you taught me so much. How to cook, paint, be a better person. You touched so many lives. I thank God that we were in each other's lives. I will be looking for you on the other side. Love you.

The art world has lost a most gracious and talented lady. I am honored to have known her through her art when she consented to be our featured artist for "Art in the Park" in Fort Smith several years ago as well as during her Presidency of the National Museum of Women in the Arts - Arkansas Committe. She will definitely be missed by so many, not only because of her love of art she so generously shared, but because she was such a lovely and caring person.

I also rejoice with you that Mary Lou passed through death and met "The Resurrection" Jesus Our Lord.
Our faith teaches us that life is not ended only changed.

As I write this to you I am surrounded by your paintings. You were a master! Your last series of "modern" paintings expressed your love of beauty and your growth as one of our nations finest artist.
I have so many fond memories of you, your art studio and traveling with you to NMWA in Washington, DC.
