My friendship with Mary Louise began about 18 years ago when she resided at Brookstone. My mother lived across the hall so it was always fun to visit Mary Louise while I was there. I was fascinated with all her jigsaw puzzles! I always thought Mary Louise was a very holy lady, very sweet & pure; and really smart. She never complained, always interested in my life and loved bragging on her family. Mary Louise said really good prayers and I always asked her to say one for me when I left. I know she is in heaven; Christ has her in perfect peace. No more pain! I will miss my friend but hope to see her “on the other side”. Blessings to her family.

I have been at the Mullins Library for 42 years and Mary was my 1st boss. She was such a kind person. She taught me how to catalog so I knew from start to finish how it
was done. I missed her so much when she left. I am sorry I didn't keep in touch with her.
She loved her family so much! She would always tell me everything that you all were doing. You were all so good to Mary. My friend Judy who has been at the library for 53 years and I have tried to find her several time. I am sorry for your loss.

I remember Mary as a very kind and loving lady that loved the Lord. She and Dr. Oxford were the faculty representatives from the U of A for the Chi Alpha group on campus. They were there my five years at the U of A. She worked at the library with a Masters degree in Library Science for probably more that 35 years. We will miss her. We loved Mary. She was a precious woman of God. It was a joy to hear her pray and sing with us when we were able to go and visit her. She always took time to ask about our kids and grandkids. We will miss her greatly, but I'm so happy that she is with the Lord and walking streets of gold! Fink Holloway

Remembering graduating with Mary and Joe Stokes at Havana, Arkansas: Mary as salutatorian and Joe as valedictorian. I am glad that I got to have a good visit with Mary while she worked at the library at University of Arkansas, recalling times since Havana. Thinking of Joe at this time and hope that he is doing well. God bless.

My husband, James (Sonny) Turner also from Havana, Arkansas and I knew Mary at the University of Arkansas and later through her difficult journey through multiple sclerosis. Mary lived with her parents near my parents and once when we were visiting my parents, my husband (often a practical joker) talked our daughter who was about 5 or 6 into going up to the door of the Stokes' and telling them that she was lost. As anyone who knew Mary and her parents, they immediately took her in, fed her and entertained her. Eventually my husband decided that the joke had likely gone on long enough and went to the door to reclaim our daughter. My husband thought it was a wonderful joke.
