Mary Louise Stokes' Obituary
Mary Louise Stokes, age 85, of Springdale was born June 23, 1935 in Havana, Arkansas, to J. M. and Vashti L. Buckman Stokes and went to Heaven on June 29, 2020.
She is survived by a brother, Joseph (Maxine) Stokes of Bowling Green, Kentucky; a sister, Martha (Doyle) Hurst of Flippin, Arkansas; nieces, Janice (Keith) Casada of Woodburn, Kentucky and Sarah (Bret) Dahl of McKinney, Texas; great nephews, Alan (Emily) Casada, Justin (Emily) Casada and Johnny Stokes and great nieces, Jennifer (Heath) Barth, Nicole Stokes, Makayla Dahl and Abigail Dahl.
She was preceded in death by a nephew John Stokes.
She graduated from Havana High School in 1952. She attended Arkansas Tech for two years and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1956. She received a master’s degree in library science from OU in 1958. Mary worked in the cataloging department of the U of A for about 30 years. Because of multiple sclerosis she had to take early retirement.
Viewing will begin at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Moore’s Chapel followed immediately by funeral service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Baptist Ford Cemetery in Greenland.
The family requests no flowers.
