Michael W. Nelson's Obituary
Michael W. Nelson, age 73, of West Fork passed away Wednesday May 8, 2024. He was born June 9, 1950 in Hannibal, Missouri to Howard (Sam) and Helen Tapley Nelson. He is a member of Blackburn Community Church. He served in law enforcement for forty three years and he retired as police chief from the West Fork Police Department. He was preceded in death by his son John Paul Nelson.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Linda Nelson; his daughter, Crista White and her husband Cecil of West Fork; six grandchildren, Dacey Chevez and her husband Johnny, Savanah White, Elianna White, Bailey White, Samuel White and Rylan Peoples and her husband Cameron; three great grandchildren, Kai Chevez, Luca Chevez and Harley Peoples.
Visitation will be 10:00 am – 11:00 am Wednesday May 15, 2024, at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:00 am at Moore’s Chapel with burial to follow in West Fork Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter, 860 NW Vaughn Road, Bentonville, Arkansas 72713.
