Patricia Ann McLendon's Obituary
Patricia Ann McLendon, age 62, of Fayetteville passed away in her home on Thursday, September 2, 2004. She was born in Little Rock to Mack and Frances McLendon on March 28, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her brother and his wife, Gary and Athina McLendon, of Fayetteville; a daughter, Michelle Wisdom and her husband John, of Fayetteville; two sons, Kenneth McClinton and his wife Beth, and Kevin Cook and his wife Nicole, all of Fayetteville; a niece, Anita McLendon, of Los Angeles and a nephew, James McLendon, of Fayetteville. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, in whom she found much joy: Alexandra Holcroft, Luke Wisdom, Samuel and Isaac McClinton; Zchon and Faith Capwell and Xander Cook.
Patricia spent most of her childhood years with her family in Central and South America and was the first High School graduate of the American Community School in Asuncion, Paraguay. She returned to Arkansas to attend the University of Arkansas. After having her three children she joined the staff at the University of Arkansas where she was the Administrative Assistant to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Services. After retiring from the University in 1997 she spent much of her time enjoying her many grandchildren and pets.
She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Paso Fino Horse Association, the Arkansas-East Bolivia Partners of the Americas, the Arkansas Teachers Retirement Association, and a past member of the American Kennel Club.
Patricia showed great strength in overcoming physical adversity and was an inspiration to those near her. The loves of her life were pets and her grandchildren.
Patricia had a life long passion for horses.
Services will be held Thursday, September 9, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church. A reception will follow in Central's Actvities Center.
