Patrick Cole Woodruff's Obituary
Patrick Cole Woodruff, 42, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2023.
He was born on February 9, 1981, and grew up in Rogers attending St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School and Rogers Public Schools where he excelled in academics and athletics and was a member of the National Honor Society. He graduated from Rogers High School with honors in 1999. In high school, his main sport was baseball where he was named All Conference and All State. His senior year he was invited to play in the Arkansas High School All-Star game and was named MVP. Patrick still holds five of the Rogers High School hitting records and was inducted into the Rogers High School Hall of Fame.
Patrick went on to play baseball at West-Ark (UAFS) and was named to the All Regional team. Following West-Ark, he went to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and played on Coach Norm DeBriyn’s last baseball team. He graduated in 2004 with a BBA.
In 2006, he married his best friend, Meredith Jordan. They built a life in Rogers and welcomed three beautiful children, Cole, Miller, and Mattie.
In memory of his son Miller who passed away in 2011 of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Patrick and his wife Meredith founded the Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation. This foundation raises awareness, funds research, and offers support to other families affected by SMA. The Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation has not only made a huge impact in NW Arkansas but also nationally.
Patrick built a career in banking and was a Commercial Relationship Manager for Encore Bank. He was truly in the right position because he had a love for people and never met a stranger.
Patrick loved the outdoors, something that was taught and passed onto him by his dad. After having children, he passed his love of the outdoors on to them and their friends, teaching them to always leave the place better than you found it, just as he had been taught.
Patrick loved coaching Cole’s sports teams and was lovingly called Coach Patty, Coach Patsy, or Coach Woody. When he wasn’t coaching or cheering from the sidelines, you could find him in the backyard playing soft toss with his Mattie Girl or on the back patio grilling a rare steak just the way they both liked it.
He loved the beach, the ski slopes, golfing, Artex Ranch, and any outing with his family.
Patrick’s boisterous laugh, charismatic personality, and infectious smile could brighten any room or group of people. Once Patrick considered you a friend, there were no lengths he would stop at to try and help you. He valued his time with those he was close to and never failed to tell them “I love you bro!” before ending a conversation.
He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on through the many Patrick stories. It gives us great solace to know that Patrick is now in Heaven truly saying, “I’m With Miller”.
A visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday September 14, 2023, at Fellowship Bible Church Rogers. Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday September 15 2023, at Fellowship Bible Church Rogers under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Rogers.
