Paul Edward Lawrence Jr.'s Obituary
Paul Edward Lawrence, Jr, age 75, of Springdale, AR, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by family Tuesday, February 15, 2022. He was born July 15, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa the son of the late Paul Edward Lawrence, Sr, and Caroline “Peggy” Rickert Lawrence. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, during which time he received the Army Commendation Medal. Paul was employed at Cargill, Inc. for 38 years, retiring in 2009 as Vice President of Operations. During his time at Cargill, Paul served as a board member of the National Turkey Federation and as president of the Poultry Federation.
Paul loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf, watching Nascar races, and traveling with his wife Luann to warm, sunny places like Arizona and Florida. He was an active member of the Springdale community, serving on the board of the Springdale Water and Sewer Commission, Springdale Chamber of Commerce, Springdale Country Club, chairing the First United Methodist Church of Springdale Foundation, and was a member of the Elk’s Club for 42 years.
Paul is survived by his wife of 52 years, Luann Schoeneman Lawrence; a son, Chad Edward Lawrence (Julie); a daughter, Natalie Jee Anderson (Joshua); a brother, Gary Lawrence; a sister, Kathie Wolfe; and six grandchildren: Hayden Lawrence, Hudson Lawrence, Eisley Lawrence, Peter Anderson, Lillian Anderson and Phillip Anderson.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Highland Oncology Group, Dr. Dan Bradford and staff, to Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN, Dr. Eugene Kwon and staff, and to Washington Regional Neurosurgical ICU physicians, nurses, and staff.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at First United Methodist Church in Springdale. The memorial service will be livestreamed and can be accessed at http://youtu.be/IdNZ-StCWMw. Burial service will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Applington, IA, date pending.
