Robert Gibson III of Fayetteville, AR passed away on April 14, 2023, at his home. He was born April 2, 1951 in Nodena, AR to Robert Jr. and Stella Gibson. Bob, as he was affectionately known, served for 31 years as an Arkansas Sta Read Obituary
I offer my sincere condolences to the Gibson family. I am so sorry to learn of his passing. I knew Mr. Gibson from the time I was a student at the UofA and when I started attending St. James. He and his wife were very kind and giving. He had a big smile too. May he rest in peace.
It was always a pleasure to work with Bob and visit with him. We shared many visits at church and working as Troopers.
Great friend, mentor and neighbor from our days living on Sunny Lane and Peg Lane. Bob will be missed.

I first met Bob in 1976 when we would eat lunch together at Western Sizzlin in Fayetteville about the time I joined Fayetteville PD. He would come to my house and we would play guitar together when he first started learning. He was a joy to be around and we worked together in many instances over our careers. May he rest in peace.
Bob Started in Troop C Jonesboro training with the local troopers under Captain Wayland Speer. When I went work as a Trooper in 1977 stationed in Madison co. , it was my pleasure to get to work with Bob in that Troop and Post. Since we were both from NEA Arkansas and Arkansas State University had a lot to talk about. May he Rest In Peace ! 🙏. Robert Speer
He gave me my first and only speeding ticket. I remember two things about him. First thing was him saying “ do you have any idea how fast you were going”. Second was how nice he was! Prayers for his family.
