Robert J. 'Bob' Frantzen's Obituary
Robert J. (Bob) Frantzen, 85, was born May 1, 1925 in La Grange, IL to Lewis and Mae (Rathbun) Frantzen. He passed away in Fayetteville, AR on Friday, May 21, 2010. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Apprentice, First Class during WWII and was awarded the Silver Star. He earned a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Iowa. He was a pharmacist, manager, and district manager for Osco Drug in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and in Arkansas, where he retired in 1982.
He was preceded in death by his sister Jeanne, who died in childhood; his wife Lorraine died in 1987; his wife Sue died in 2000; his brother Lewis (Bud) Frantzen died in 2008, and his sister Helen died in 2010. He is survived by his son Ron Frantzen and wife Alana of Belvidere, IL, his daughter Linda Carlson and husband Randy of Erie, CO, his daughter Diana Frantzen and husband Chris Hristov of Madison, WI, his daughter Anita Neal and husband Jim of Springville, IN, a sister Betty Rotach of Manchester, IA, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was blessed with many friends during his life, many of whom have gone before him. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Monday at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name to Faith In Action or to your favorite charity.
