Sandra and I worked together at TxDOT. We shared a love for reading and had great conversations about whatever book we were reading. She worked with us through her initial cancer diagnosis and through her treatment. She was one tough lady! Every day she was able to be there, she was there. She still had a smile or a funny story even though she was going through a terrible ordeal. I have only wonderful memories of Sandra. She will be remembered and missed…..Tracey Logan
I had Sandra for two classes - English and American History. Like Rhonda, she was one of my favorite teachers. I don't think any of us will forget the bicentennial classroom. I wish comfort and peace for your family. She will not be forgotten. Carol Morelock
Sandra was one of my favorite teachers at Lincoln High School (1976). She let our class paint a flag on the entire wall in her classroom to celebrate the bicentennial. Prayers for her family and friends 🙏
Nanny, you were the best grandma to ever have, even if I had the chance to replace I don’t think I ever could! I remember all the times you’ve helped dad be able to take care of me and watch me so he could still go to work, or the times we sat and made necklaces, or painted bird houses with memaw, but one of my all time favorites was bench watching movies after movies and falling asleep in every single one of them! I’m going to miss your home made eggs in a basket, nobody could out beat you on those or your green bean bundles! You will always have a special place in my heart that nobody will ever be able to take away! I’m so glad you got to meet Dallas and give her all your wonderful lovins! I promise to always remind her about you and tell her all the wonderful things you taught me! I love you nanny forever and ever! One thing I’ll never forget is “your nanny always loves you better not forget” that’s what you told me every time I seen you or you called me! Fly high angel, watch over us and I’ll see you soon❤️🕊️️
I was her caregiver at another facility. We hit it off on day 1, she shared stories ,memories and we became very close.
She was a friend as well as a Resident.
She was a very special lady, head strong in her ways . She had a beautiful spirit and loving heart, I visited her after she moved and as always we chatted on deep subjects at her request. I loved her dearly.
I kept my promise to her as I know she will as well.
Keep them crystals in the sun enjoy the spectrum and know she is always close..
Sandra was my big sister, a very hard act to follow. She was brilliant, kind, loved hard and the best sister I could’ve ever wished for. Through all her struggles she managed to raise a wonderful son, working hard so that he wanted for nothing. In return , Michael, her son and wife Angela took excellent care of her in her final time on this earth. Sandra, you will be missed terribly but we know you’re in your happy place. Can’t wait to see you again 🩷🩷
