Scott and I graduated from High School, together, played Football, side by side, and were great, great freinds. He was always so well prepared....for everything. Knew every assignment, not just along the line, but every job. A rare and incredible mind. A leader. Built by fine folks. I am fortunate to have my life so positivley affected by not just Scott, but the entire Pleiman family.
Scott pleiman was one of the most influential leaders for my career. He cared deeply about my development , encouraged to take on calculated risks and explore opportunities at right times. He was such a great mentor and most importantly such a nice gentleman. I had kept in touch even after leaving walmart and out of the country. He would respond very quickly when I reached back out. I could easily tell that he cared deeply about his family and his values. He was a great soul. My prayers for his family’s well being and eternal salvation for his soul.

My condolences to the Pleiman family. I am a fellow Miami and Kellogg grad, and Scott brought me onto his team at Walmart in 2010 during a transition period in my career. I am forever grateful for his impact on my life.
For as shocking as this news is it reminded of the optimism he brought to our teams and clients at EY and then Capgemini.
While I haven’t spoken with Scott in at least 20 years, I do think of him from time to time, recalling a leader with a quiet confidence and a sharp mind and someone to whom you were drawn to work with.
He will be missed, obviously, but more so his meaningful impact and legacy lives on.
I met Scott at Walmart back in 2025 . He had that rare combination of intellect and drive , while at the same time being generous with his time for guidance , feedback and having some fun . I had not talked to him in many years but he is the type of person that leaves a mark . He will be missed

Scott was one of the best bosses I ever had, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked for and learned from him.
He set incredibly high expectations, but he never left you to figure things out on your own. He invested in people, coached them, challenged them, and supported them every step of the way. Scott had a unique ability to push you to be better while making you believe you could get there.
One lesson I will never forget was how he taught me to structure communication: "Situation. Complication. Resolution." It sounds simple, but it fundamentally changed how I think, communicate, and lead.
Some of my favorite memories were stopping by Scott's office to talk about analytics, strategy, and all the possibilities that data and technology could unlock for a business. Those conversations shaped my perspective and expanded the way I think about solving problems and creating value.
Scott was a remarkable mentor. I hope that throughout my career I can be even half as good a mentor to others as he was to me.
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Pleiman family. Scott's impact on so many people will continue long after his passing, and I know I am a better leader because of him.
Deeply saddened to hear of Scott Pleiman’s passing. I had the privilege of reporting to Scott and learned a tremendous amount from him. On his first day at HBI, he told us, “We’re going to work smart and hard, and while doing it, let’s have fun.” He lived by that mindset every day.
During our 1:1 conversations, Scott didn’t just focus on business results. He invested time in coaching people. He challenged me to think about how to grow by leveraging my strengths rather than obsessing over my weaknesses. That perspective changed how I approached both leadership and career development.
Scott possessed a rare combination of strategic vision and operational depth. He knew how to connect strategy with execution, and he helped others do the same.
My thoughts are with his family, friends, and all those whose lives and careers he touched.

As a direct report working for Scott shortly after he started at Walmart, I remember being “Pleiman’ed” as we called it, several times. Being Pleiman’ed meant ending up in Scott’s office once the day’s regular meetings were over. It might start with a “room for improvement or correction of errors” session which was professional and direct and certainly warranted at that time in my career. But, that was not being Pleiman’ed. Being Pleiman’ed meant the all business exterior Scott wore throughout the day would slowly come down and you might talk Michigan versus Ohio State rivalry, predict office political races, get family advice as I was a new parent or much more. And being Pleiman’ed could go on for quite some time. When I moved to a new role that was still in the office, I was fortunate to still be Pleiman’ed. Once I took a role away from Bentonville and eventually outside the US, I came to realize how much I missed being Pleiman’ed. I always learned something from him in each of these sessions and it served me well later in my career and as a person. If you had the benefit of being Pleiman’ed, it was just one of the reasons those that worked for him were so loyal to him. He will be missed but the lessons not forgotten.
