Scott A. Pleiman's Obituary
Scott A. Pleiman, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on June 6, 2026 at the age of 59. Born on April 25, 1967 in Dayton, Ohio, Scott lived a life of remarkable professional achievement and even deeper commitment to family and community. He is remembered by all who knew him for his keen intellect, his generous spirit, and the lasting impression he made on every organization he served and every life he touched.
Scott is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jennifer (Mangan) Pleiman; their three children, Nicholas, Lauren, and Andrew; his father, Jerome; his sister, Shelley; his 10 brothers and sisters-in-law; and his 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette.
Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Miami University in Ohio. He went on to receive a Master of Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, concentrating in Strategy, Finance, and Marketing, and was a Certified Public Accountant.
His professional career spanned more than three decades and left a mark on some of the most consequential organizations in American business. Scott began in public accounting at Ernst & Young in Chicago, where he built a foundation of rigor and discipline, and where he also met the woman who would become his wife, Jennifer. He went on to lead the Retail and Consumer Products Strategy practice at Capgemini, advising CEOs and senior executives of Fortune 500 companies on competitive positioning and growth strategy for over a decade.
In 2005, Scott joined Walmart, a chapter that would span 16 years and define much of his professional legacy. The opportunity brought Scott and his family to Rogers, Arkansas, where they put down roots in the heart of Northwest Arkansas and made it home. Rising from Vice President of Business Strategy through progressively senior roles in Finance and Merchandising, he ultimately served as Executive Vice President of Merchandising Operations. Following his time at Walmart, he served as a Senior Strategic Advisor at Boston Consulting Group and later joined Hanesbrands Inc. in 2023 as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, a role that expanded to encompass Advanced Analytics and Technology. Throughout every chapter of his career, Scott was as committed to developing the people around him as he was to driving results, and his mentorship left a mark on colleagues across every organization he served.
Scott and Jennifer were married on May 14, 1999, and built a family and a life together. Their three children, Nicholas, Lauren, and Andrew, were Scott’s greatest source of pride, and he was their most devoted champion. Whether the occasion was an academic milestone, a competitive tournament, or simply the courage to take on something hard, Scott was there, fully present, endlessly patient, and always putting his family first. He had an extraordinary ability to inspire without pressure and to lead by example without ever seeking the spotlight. That same patience and presence that defined him as a father found a natural home on the golf course, a passion woven into the fabric of family life that shaped their travels, filled their weekends, and created some of their most cherished memories together. His gentle strength, his steadiness, and his deep and abiding love for his family are the gifts he leaves behind.
Scott Pleiman’s impact, on the businesses he helped build, the people he mentored, the family he cherished, and the communities he called home, was profound and enduring. He was a man of humble excellence, and those who had the privilege of knowing him are better for it.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 26 at Hunt Chapel at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens, 5930 S Wallis Road in Rogers, AR. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances be made to OFCC Historic Landmark Foundation, https://www.ofccfoundation.org/donate
