I knew your family when your father was assigned to the DC area. Mike and I were the best of friends in high school and at West Point. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Your father was a wonderful officer and a fine man.
While I have lost touch with most the people I knew in Faytetteville I still think of them from time to time. Col. Oberley, or as I remember him, young (although not from my perspective as a kid) Capt. Oberley was the best neighbor we ever had. I miss the whole family. Nearly all the older generation of my youth has passed on.
