Tommy Clay Mardis' Obituary
Tommy Clay Mardis born on September 21, 1958 passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026 at the age of 67. Tommy was born in Jonesboro, AR and moved to Rogers, AR in 1987. Surviving family includes his wife, Tammi, daughters Stacy Tidwell (Drew) and Kayce Mardis, and son Trey Mardis (Lindsey) and Tommy’s sister Lisa Mardis. He was a grandfather known as “Pa” to Avery, Owen, Emma Kate, and Clay Tidwell, and Brooklyn Mardis. He is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Betty Mardis.
Tommy grew up in Jonesboro, AR and graduated from Nettleton High School in 1976. In high school he played basketball and football for the Nettleton Raiders. After graduating high school Tommy married his high school sweet heart, Tammi, in 1979 at the Methodist Church in Monette, AR. They farmed in Liberty, TX and Beech Grove, AR, before relocating to Rogers, AR. In 1987 he began his 40 year career where he owned and operated a chain of convenience stores and developed multiple apartment complexes.
He enjoyed his family especially the time he had with his grandkids. Tommy loved to play golf and attend Razorback sporting events. He enjoyed looking for new business opportunities.
Tommy was a driven and hard-working individual in everything he did. He was a leader and could always see an opportunity before anyone else in business endeavors. He was task oriented, wise, and detailed. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Tommy was soft hearted and generous in all things he did.
He attended Central United Methodist for his entire adult life, where many family memories were made. Tommy spent years volunteering when his kids were young coaching and leading their activities. Tommy served as a mentor to young entrepreneurs helping them to seek opportunity and start their business. His wealth of knowledge was never forced but always offered guidance.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday March 17th at 11:00 am at Central United Methodist Church, 2535 West New Hope Road, Rogers, AR with a grave side service following at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens, 5930 South Wallace Road, Rogers, AR. Tommy lived a full life surrounded by the people he loved most. His legacy was he loved God and loved his family. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support and prayers over the last few years and especially in these past few days.
