A day that I'll never forget with my Grandma Snider was when I moved to Missouri back in 2012. My parents and I went to Overland Park where they had lived previously, and then mom, grandma and I went shopping. Although we've shared many shopping memories, on this particular trip grandma and I slowed down and leisurely strolled along just taking in reach others company. It was great that she was really listening me, sharing pearls of wisdom backed with love, and how happy she was that I'd made it back to the Midwest.
That night she reminded me that as a kid, maybe 4 or 5yrs old, I had answered her phone and they asked for Ginny... I said that's me (Jenny) and the caller after another failed attempt asking for Ginny, resorted to asking for grandma. I went and got her, but very confused. After she got off the phone, she asked what was wrong? Now to my defense, Jenny and Ginny said just the right way can sound an awful lot a like.. I told her my confusion, she chucked and tried to express that she Ginny. I only knew her as grandma, so that didn't compute. My ultimate decision was that if she's Ginny., then I rationalized I must be grandma too! She was so tickled by that!
