Virginia Snider's Obituary
Virginia Snider, born in Hutchinson, Kansas to Ezra and Nellie Coons, passed peacefully into heaven on October 28, 2025 at the age of 96. She lived a full and blessed life, marked by unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and a generous spirit. For 73 of those years, she was devoted to her beloved husband, Loren.
Loren’s career with Southwestern Bell took them across the Midwest, as he led major telecommunications conversions. While Loren managed technical transformations, Virginia cultivated a home filled with warmth, hospitality, and love. When Loren made the decision to settle in Overland Park, Kansas, Virginia embraced the change, building a vibrant community of friends and deepening her roots.
Creative and nurturing, Virginia found joy in the art of quilling—transforming birth certificates, wedding invitations, and treasured documents into beautiful keepsakes for friends and family. She delighted in babysitting and playing with her grandchildren, always making time for laughter and love. She was clothed with dignity and beauty with her desire to practically love others. Her legacy is one of steadfast faith in Jesus, devotion to family and friends, and a heart committed to serving others.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Loren; her siblings Verle, Thelma, and Elva; her daughter Deborah; and her grandson Jason. She is lovingly remembered by her son Gary (and Kristi) Snider, her son in law Tom Perry (and wife Donna) and granddaughters Jennifer Miller and Tisha Patton (and John). In her final years, she resided in Fayetteville, Arkansas, surrounded by the joy of her great-grandchildren—Tozer, Titus, and Truitt Patton. You could often see her on a sideline cheering them on in all of their sports.
Virginia will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We hold close the memory of her twinkling eyes and comforting presence, and we look forward to the day we’ll see her again in heaven, where everything will be good.
