A Great Aunt who shall be dearly missed. We Love You! Daughter of James Whitlock, Granddaughter of L Whitlock.
To the Whitlock Family- I have known Freda for over 30 years. She was a member of the young adult choir at Paradise Baptist Church, Los Angeles, where I was the pianist. Freda was always fun loving and had that beautiful smile. My continued prayer to all of the family and friends that loved her. I thank God for knowing her.

Freada was one of the first people to befriend me when I was hired at CMI. She was always smiling and never had an unkind word about anyone. She loved to fish. I asked her to go fishing with me on my pontoon, but she wouldn't. She was afraid two women on a boat would get into trouble. She wanted her feet to be firmly planted on the ground! She will be missed by her friends and family in this life, but will bring joy to the heavenly family that will greet and embrace her with their love.
How to express my feelings about my precious friend is an awesome task. I instantly connected to Freada when she came for her interview at CMI back in 1996. There were others to interview but I wanted the best and that was Freada! I insisted we interview her one more time so everyone could agree (with me) she was the best candidate for the job. Thank God we agreed on hiring Freada. (I wouldn't have had it any other way.) What a tremendous blessing she was to those of us who had the honor and privilege to work with her. God places people in our lives for so many reasons. Freada had a smile on her face and joy in her voice almost all the time. I say that because she didn't always want to pay people money on the claims she handled and would challenge me on many occasions, however she would do the right thing for the customer and the company when asked to do so. She was right many times. She would get authority on cases then settle them lower just to show me she could do it. I loved that about her! She treated that money like it was her own. One time we talked with Freada about her being behind on some of her work. Do you know that this happened because the operators picked her to send all the calls to because she was always there and answered with a smile in her voice to take care of whoever was on the line. We had to ask them to stop sending everything to her so she could get her own work done! Freada loved the Lord and shared her faith with many. She also loved to fish! We talked a lot about crawfish with me. She mentioned her family often. She especially was proud of her daughter, Malaika. She wanted only the very best for her and did all she could for her. Malaika, she loved you with all her heart. Always remember that. Cherish all the memories of the good times with your precious mother. Reach out to Jesus and others for help when you need it. You are loved by your family and many others who treasured Freada. We're here for you when you need us. May the Lord comfort each family member by His Holy Spirit. May you find peace in the midst of this sorrow. We all have that hope that we will see Freada one day and she'll be waiting there to welcome us and show us around. What a day that will be! God bless each of you. Please know Freada's spirit will always be with us. She has left a legacy of love. My love goes out to each of you.
God His Freada,
May he bless her family.
I had the honor of working with Feada and her neice Donna at CMI for many years. Freada was truly a blessing to know and always a joy to be around. She could find the good in anyone. My heart truly goes out to her family at this time of loss. May God guide you and comfort you.
To Malika, Augustine, Mae, and Family:
Words cannot express our deepest sympathy. I personally feel as though I am a member of the Whitlock family and therefore the hurt goes beyond the loss of a dear friend. I can fondly recall the many good times shared with Freda and certainly addressing her as Freda "Whitlatch" (smile), I mean Whitlock. Even back in the day I recall her favorite dance tune was (Rock Steady) by Aretha Franklin. She will be greatly missed by all. She was a good person.
I had the pleasure of working with Freada for a year (Jan 2000/Jan 2001). She was a wonderful woman who will greatly be missed! Very seldom did she ever not have a smile on her face. My heart goes out to her family! You will be in our prayers!
