Ms Freada Whitlock's Obituary
Radiant, Resiliant, Resourceful, Righteous. These characteristics successfully captured the essence and eminence of Freada Whitlock; here is her story.
Freada was born June 14, Nineteen Forty Five, in Lake Providene, Louisiana, to the parrents Rev. L. Sr. and Freada Howard Whitlock. The youngest girl of 14 children, Freada had a strong, sustainable, close knit family foundation, enjoying a home filled with love, allegiance, religion, inspiration, and integrity. Growing up, Freada, affectionately known as "June," forged a special bond with fellow sisters and brothers who were closest to her age. She would soon be assigned the title "Storyteller" by her family because of her vivid, engaging, and indellible recollections of her youthful and joyful childhood.
Equipped with a balance of faith and family, Freada excelled in education, graduating from Griffin High School in Nineteen Sixty Three. Afterward, she attended Grambling University before heading out West to California. There, she established roots in the Inglewood community and enjoyed a thriving and rewarding life, which included the birth of her daughter, Maliaka Dante Hill, and a long standing career as a bank officer with Bank of America.
After more than 20 years as a California resident, Freada moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas in the mid 90's, where she comfortably settled into a fitting and tranquil lifestyle. She worked as a claims adjustor with Wal Mart's Claims Management, Inc. division and was a devoted member of Life Harvester Church.
In addition to being a committed and caring parent to her daughter, Freada enjoyed serving the Lord, fishing, and sewing. Amplified by her nurturing spirit and love of family was her warm disposition, glowing smile, and enlivened laughter. God wanted to share Freada's benevolence and beauty in Heaven; the Creator called her home Sunday, August 17, 2003, in Lowell, Arkansas. Freada was fifty eight years old. She is preceded in death by her parents and two (2) brothers, Jesse Whitlock, and Charles B. Whitlock, and one (1) half brother, Kenneth Whitlock.
