William E. Guthrie's Obituary
Mr. William E. "Bill" Guthrie, 69 of Fayetteville, AR passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2005 in Fayetteville. He was born April 4, 1936 in Marvel, AR to Walter Edward and Willie Mae (Layman) Guthrie.
He was retired from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft after 32 years working as an electrical engineer. He was a 1962 graduate of the University of Arkansas with a BSEE degree. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. From 1955 to 1958 he served as a tail gunner on a B-52 in the U.S. Air Force and is a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife Beatrice "Bea" Guthrie, two sons; Doctor Patrick Guthrie & wife Kathy of Fayetteville, AR, Walter Guthrie of Oklahoma City, OK, one daughter; Barbara and husband Reverend Bob Freudiger of Marion, AR, two sisters; Anne Beard and husband Gene of Newville, PA, Linda Johnson and husband Keith of Lansing, IL, one brother; Rodney Guthrie and wife Anna of Wappapello, MO, five grandchildren; Rachel Fruediger, Rebekah Freudiger, and only grandson, Daniel Freudiger of Marion, AR, Maggie Guthrie and Mary Guthrie both of Fayetteville.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 4, 2006 in Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bob Freudiger officiating.
